Oppose Natural Gas Setbacks, Protect Natural Gas Development
Pennsylvania’s natural gas development is under attack on multiple fronts. Make your voice heard to protect Pennsylvania energy production. Take Action below.
In October, House Bill 1946 was introduced by Rep. Vitali, which would drastically increase setback distances for natural gas development. To be clear, these setback distances are not intended to protect the public but are explicitly designed to halt all natural gas development in its tracks.
The regulatory threat is just as severe: The Environmental Quality Board (EQB) is now considering new rules that would impose prohibitive one-mile setback distances by regulation. This is an end-run around the legislative process and would unilaterally block most future natural gas development in Pennsylvania.
Urge your elected officials to OPPOSE any legislation (including House Bill 1946) and EQB action to increase natural gas setback distances.
