Pipelines: The Foundation of Sustainable Energy Diversification
Sponsored by TRC Companies
Natural gas, delivered from a safe and reliable network of pipelines, has driven the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions for the power generation sector and filled the gap for on-demand, 24-7 power generation that wind and solar can struggle to meet. Pipelines – for natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia, and carbon dioxide – will remain the foundation for sustainable energy diversification. This panel will explore how pipeline operators can differentiate their projects by focusing on the merits of reduced carbon intensity, enhanced safety, decreased social and environmental burdens, co-created community benefits, and effective stakeholder engagement and communication.

Policy, Power, and Politics: Lessons for E&P on the Road Ahead
Sponsored by Coterra Energy Inc.
Public policy, power generation, and politics will continue to impact the E&P business, shaping our challenges for years to come. The E&P industry is central to most, if not all, of the significant domestic and international challenges facing our nation. In our advocacy, we must be cautious of adopting a reactionary posture, but instead, frame our arguments with data-driven, insightful analyses. Future challenges will be different depending upon the results of the November election, and we should be mindful of the dichotomy of challenges that either outcome will bring.

MRV, EU Methane Regulations, and Preparing for a Global Regulatory Environment
Sponsored by Montrose Environmental
The new EU Methane regulation is set to require energy exporters to disclose their product’s methane intensity beginning in 2025 and compliance with a to-be-determined methane intensity limit by 2030. The Marcellus/Utica Shale is the highest producing gas play in the U.S., and natural gas is beginning to make its way to LNG export facilities. The EU Methane regulation regulates emissions outside the EU border by requiring exporters to institute robust Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) programs to meet import contractual methane intensity disclosure and limit requirements…regardless of the U.S. regulations in place. Our panel will discuss how this regulation may impact operators and best practices in the field and in data management that can be implemented to prepare for this global regulatory environment.

Reinventing the Modern E&P Company: Achieving Operational Flexibility, Sustainability, and Shareholder Returns
Sponsored by Chesapeake Energy Corporation
Natural gas remains a key fuel to address the societal needs of more affordable, reliable, and lower carbon energy. The long-term outlook for natural gas remains strong with clear demand growth from LNG exports and domestic electricity generation. As gas-on-gas competition expands globally and market volatility increases, producers will be required to disrupt traditional E&P business models and find ways to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure consumer needs are met. The Chesapeake Energy and Southwestern Energy combination is positioning the two companies to do just that, forming a modern producer capable of enhanced operational flexibility, shareholder returns, and sustainability.
