Harrisburg politicians are threatening to raise your natural gas and electric bills by imposing new taxes on Pennsylvania energy production. Take Action.

State Representatives Tarik Khan and Chris Pielli recently proposed a severance tax (HB 2129) on natural gas production. This proposal is nearly twice as high as any other state.

Pennsylvania already levies a tax on natural gas production that has generated over $3 Billion for Pennsylvanians and communities. No matter how this tax is packaged, HB 2129 is just another tax consumers will pay in their monthly bills. With 60% of Pennsylvania’s electricity generated by natural gas, this new tax will further increase your electric bills, too.

This proposal could not come at a worse time for consumers. Urge our elected officials to OPPOSE any legislation that will increase our energy bills.
