PITTSBURGH, PA – The Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) welcomes today’s announcement regarding the redevelopment of the Homer City site and applauds the decision to use Pennsylvania’s abundant, reliable natural gas to power the future of artificial intelligence. After the announcement, MSC president Jim Welty issued the following statement:

“The project at Homer City brings into focus the important job-creating opportunities that can be realized when we get the energy equation right. By capitalizing on Pennsylvania’s clean, affordable and reliable natural gas resources – and our talented local workforce – we can compete and win in the regional and global marketplace.

“Along with our building trades partners, we’re committed to meeting the strong and growing market demand for natural gas. We hope and will continue to encourage policymakers to embrace smart energy policies so that we secure more of these critical opportunities for the Commonwealth, rather than lose them to neighboring state, as has become too commonplace.”
