Natural Gas Usage

While Pennsylvania continues to safely produce prolific amounts of clean-burning natural gas, the uses for this domestic energy source are also growing. Across our region and around the country, we are using more natural gas to fuel the economy than ever before.

Natural gas is most widely used in the industrial and manufacturing sectors—chemicals, metals, glass and food processing, among others—with its use to heat and power our nation’s homes and businesses expanding rapidly. This results in more affordable energy and enhanced air quality for citizens. The availability of clean-burning natural gas has also diversified the transportation section, as an increasing number of fleet vehicles convert to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
