Natural Gas Usage

While Pennsylvania continues to safely produce prolific amounts of clean-burning natural gas, the uses for this domestic energy source are also growing. Across our region and around the country, we are using more natural gas to fuel the economy than ever before. ‘

Natural gas is most widely used in the industrial and manufacturing sectors—chemicals, metals, glass and food processing, among others—with its use to heat and power our nation’s homes and businesses expanding rapidly. The result? More affordable energy and sharp air quality improvements. And on the road (as well as railroads), we are seeing more and more consumer vehicles and commercial trucks running on affordable compressed natural gas (CNG), along with an increasing number of CNG fueling stations opening throughout the country.
