MSC member companies are doing their part for communities across the Commonwealth this holiday season, conducting toy drives, providing home heating assistance, donating to food pantries, and sponsoring organizations that make a huge impact for families during the holidays.

Pennsylvania is our home, and in addition to producing and delivering clean and affordable energy, our members want to make a difference in the areas where we work and live.

Here’s a look at some of the holiday giving programs sponsored by MSC members across the state:

EQT Corp.

EQT recently announced a partnership with the Community Foundation of Greene County and the Ohio Valley, launching two new giving programs to support the communities of Greene (Pa.) and Wetzel (W.Va.) counties.

GIVE Greene and GIVE Wetzel are programs led by community leaders in each county and have so far raised more than $1 million combined from corporate donations. This money is used to fund programs, events and necessary community initiatives.

Ensuring that everyone can experience a happy holiday season, employees also participated in Angel Tree and Adopt-A-Family programs.

Southwestern Energy

Southwestern Energy recently donated toys alongside the Wyoming County Police Athletic League to support the Wyoming County Cops Christmas Toy Drive.

Range Resources

Observer-Reporter: Generous donation helps Burgettstown shine bright this holiday season

Range donated $10,000 to the Burgettstown Volunteer Fire Department to purchase new Christmas decorations. Known for their colorful holiday décor, the Burgettstown community was worried that their holiday tradition would be lost this year due to the aftermath Hurricane Ida. In September, the natural disaster caused major flooding in the area which destroyed their collection of Christmas lights.

“It’s awesome. I still can’t believe it,” said resident of Burgettstown Kobe Sarracino. “I had tears in my eyes. Because of Range’s donation, that enabled us as a town to make our town more festive for the holidays.”

Seneca Resources

Seneca Resources’ Pittsburgh team sponsored ten area children through their Allegheny County Holiday Project. While working together, Seneca and Allegheny County donated meaningful holiday gifts to children whose families who have fallen victim to homelessness. Recipients of these gifts range from newborns to young adults.

Coterra Energy

WNEP: Gas companies join charity buying gifts

For nearly a decade, Coterra employees have hosted an annual Toy Drive, where volunteers receive a shopping list for northern Pennsylvania families and purchase their wish list items. This year, their team is working reach thousands in need across Susquehanna and Wyoming counties.

UGI

UGI Energy Services participated in their 12th annual Angel Tree Program, donating trees to veterans, seniors, and children within their community. They also came together to purchase over 400 gifts for those in need this holiday season. In addition, UGI sponsored WGAL (Lancaster) Channel 8’s Annual Coats for Kids telethon to benefit the Salvation Army from December 6 through 10. Donations made to the telethon helped supply new coats to children in Central Pennsylvania. The telethon raised over $125,000, providing more than 1,100 children with new coats.

UGI employees also sponsored wreaths for the annual Wreaths Across America campaign and joined the memorial service at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery to honor and remember fallen heroes.

Diversified Energy

Observer-Reporter: Diversified Energy donates coats to youth

Diversified Energy provided new winter coats to 200 youth in the Washington County area in partnership with the Country Thrift Market, a division of the Greater Washington County Food Bank. Diversified employees also volunteered to distribute coats to families, giving vouchers for the thrift market and providing holiday meals.

“Every child in Washington County should have a warm coat this winter and Diversified is excited to be a part of making sure they do,” said Jason Mounts, Director of Operations for Diversified Energy.

Diversified’s additional $5,000 donation to the food bank will provide 264 families with food for one month.

CNX Resources

Observer-Reporter: CNX donations spread joy to City Mission, food banks

CNX Resources Corp. fed food banks with a $5,000 donation to Food Helpers in Centerville, Washington County; Corner Cupboard Food Bank, Greene County; and Westmoreland Food Bank, Delmont.

CNX also donated $25,000 to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center to support patient care initiatives and new technology. For the past six years, CNX has pledged to support the Center and has donated over $300,000.

JKLM Energy

JKLM Energy employees participated in their 5th annual Giving Tree tradition, this year in partnership with the Galeton Christmas Child Program in Potter County, PA. Each holiday season, JKLM employees select ornament tags from an office tree which contain the wish list of a school-aged child. The JKLM team has been able to help over 100 children in the Potter County area to have a warmer and brighter holiday season.

People’s Gas

In addition to sponsoring downtown Pittsburgh’s People’s Gas Holiday Market in Pittsburgh, the company also presented “The Spirit of Christmas” parade in Butler that helps to draw attention to small businesses in the downtown area.

Energy Transfer

Energy Transfer participates annually in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, donating Christmas wish-list items to area families in need. The company also is the title sponsor of the Energy Transfer Veterans Memorial Rink in Delaware County, Pa.

Equitrans Midstream

Equitrans Midstream Corporation this year sponsored the Education Partnership’s Adopt-A-School program, which provided students at Southeastern Greene School District with essential learning supplies.
