While we appreciate your concerns, we certainly do not agree with the unsubstantiated premise that long-term risks associated with natural gas development – a tightly-regulated process – exist. We do, however, recognize that the safe, responsible development of clean-burning American natural gas can, and must, play a key role in our nation’s energy, environmental and national security future. As President Obama said during his 2013 State of the Union address, “The natural gas boom has led to cleaner power and greater energy independence. We need to encourage that.” We agree, and do a clear majority of the American people.
