Such claims that safe, responsible, tightly-regulated American natural gas development is in any way causing “devastation” are patently false, entirely baseless and wholly unsupported by actual facts and science. Regarding the “100 years of gas”, that is true – our nation is blessed with a tremendous resource base that is fostering economic renewal across Pennsylvania and other parts of the nation, especially our manufacturing base, enhancing air quality, driving down energy costs for every American consumer, and bolstering national security – all while protecting our environment. As President Obama has said: “The natural gas boom has led to cleaner power and greater energy independence. We need to encourage that.” We certainly agree.
