The economic impact of natural gas development has brought great opportunity to every corner of the commonwealth, most notably to rural communities that have been economically depressed for decades. As for adverse impacts on these communities, as an industry we make efforts to minimize any inconveniences, but also recognize that there are impacts which is why we supported legislation that would impose an impact fee that generates new revenue (more than $400 over the last two years) to help alleviate these impacts.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Marcellus Shale development supports over 250,000 jobs across the entire supply chain and according to the Department of Revenue, natural gas development has generated more than $1.6 billion in tax receipts since 2006.
