Pittsburgh, Pa. – Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) president Kathryn Klaber issued the following statement regarding the bipartisan Indigenous Mineral Resources Incentives Development Act, which was signed into law yesterday by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett:

“This common sense law will bring further benefits associated with the safe development of clean-burning natural gas to each and every Pennsylvanian. By allocating natural gas-related revenue from taxpayer-owned land to conservation and infrastructure programs, and perhaps most importantly, to our state university students in the form of expanded scholarship funding, this law clearly demonstrates the positive impact that natural gas production is having, and will continue to have, across the Commonwealth.

“We especially appreciate Senator Don White’s commitment and leadership to making this pragmatic concept law. The overwhelming bipartisan support for this legislation cannot be overstated. This is yet another example of how responsible natural gas development is benefiting our entire region.”
