As you may know, the Marcellus Shale is nearly 400 million years old. It’s a solid rock formation located more than 4,500 feet below the surface with a footprint that spans five states. Once a specific location is developed and fractured, natural gas will flow through the wellbore under natural pressure. The formation will not re-pressurize.
