Natural gas is a clean-burning fuel with real public health and environmental benefits for all Pennsylvanians and the nation. As natural gas continues to be safely produced at record numbers here in Pennsylvania and across the country, air quality has been improving at an impressive rate.
The Wall Street Journal reported that according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, thanks to increased use of natural gas, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the United States are at near 20-year lows. Regulations are also in place to control and mitigate methane emissions during the drilling process and transportation of natural gas.
