Annual video underscores long-term demand for domestic energy; Pennsylvania’s leading role

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) released a new video – “American Energy Resilience” – during its 11th Annual Membership Meeting Tuesday, highlighting the year’s key accomplishments.

“American natural gas remains a top priority for Pennsylvania voters, who understand the benefits this domestic resource creates for our entire economy and our standard of living – as well as the continued improvement of our environment and national security,” said MSC president David Spigelmyer.

“We recognize that natural gas is the fuel that can help our nation achieve the climate and sustainability goals of the incoming administration without jeopardizing jobs and economic growth,” Spigelmyer continued. “There is no better baseload electricity partner to highly intermittent wind and solar sources than affordable, reliable natural gas.”

“Our industry continues to confront significant challenges with an eye toward safety and responsibility at every aspect of our work. But with the talented workforce and supply chain that enables natural gas to be safely produced in Pennsylvania, we’re confident, upbeat, and bullish that we will emerge from this pandemic and recent downturn stronger and more resilient than ever before.”
