Please give a brief introduction to your company.
Mott MacDonald is a leading global engineering and environmental consulting firm with a century of worldwide experience. We employ over 16,000 people – 2,500 staff in 60 offices in the U.S. and Canada – delivering projects in North and South America, Africa, Asia Pacific and Australasia, Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia – 150 countries in all.
With involvement in the design and constructability of some of the industry’s most ambitious infrastructure projects and a multi-disciplined staff, we possess the practical knowledge and experience needed to meet the challenges of any given project. We are proud of our role in major ventures worldwide, as we provide comprehensive services in all areas of energy, pipeline, facilities, power, renewables, infrastructure, utilities, tunnels, transportation, water, and wastewater markets.
How does your company support clients or customers in the energy space?
Mott MacDonald supports numerous energy, oil & gas, and power clients on new construction, integrity, operation and maintenance, rehabilitation, replacement and modification projects.
We are highly experienced in production, gathering, midstream, transmission, storage and distribution for pipeline, facilities, processing and treatment, and tank/manifold projects.
We also provide a full range of services on power projects, including transmission and distribution, renewables, offshore/onshore wind, solar, delivery and generation.
We offer clients the complete range of services in all areas of EPCM, program/project management, advisory, planning, feasibility studies, engineering, environmental, surveys, preliminary and detailed design, procurement, right-of-way, construction management, construction inspection, asset management, start-up, operations and maintenance.
While Mott MacDonald offers total services for the full project lifecycle, a strategic partnership with our clients provides the flexibility to offer services as-needed and on-demand. We recognize that quality investment in small activities can generate exponential savings in big-ticket items – our involvement in the early stages of project or program development will yield greater benefits through repeat collaboration.
We have a proven commitment to health and safety, sustainability and environmental stewardship, and digital innovation. Improvement is at the heart of what we offer: better economic development, better social and environmental outcomes, better businesses, and a better return on your investment. In partnership with you, we establish the steps to meet your strategic ambitions, helping you fund, plan, design, deliver and sustain your goals.
What is a key differentiator for your business?
Project teams need access to comprehensive information to make rapid, well-informed decisions. That’s why Mott MacDonald created SmartInsights. SmartInsights is our online system for program management, project controls and reporting. It provides real-time data management and integrated dashboards for the full lifecycle of your project. You get a clear, transparent view, helping you to manage logistics effectively and control project outcomes.
Our tool provides real-time, automated, online project controls, document/data management, reporting, and dashboards that can be invaluable for keeping your project on track. Project managers benefit from an integrated data model and dashboards that present project team members a live, accurate assessment of key metrics when needed. SmartInsights uses data from Moata, Fieldbook™, the SmartLifecycle suite of tools, and other data sources to generate dashboards that provide updates to every aspect of the project, including health and safety, schedule, cost, budget and forecast, earned value, change management, risks and mitigation, deliverables, actions, engineering, mapping, survey, right-of-way, environmental, permitting, procurement and construction. SmartInsights strengthens your ability to proactively manage the project, meet logistical challenges, and improve results.
How has MSC membership been of value to your company and the services you provide?
Membership in the MSC provides many benefits, including connections and networking with other industry companies and employees, and sharing best practices in a number of technical, construction and operations disciplines. We are also kept well-informed about industry developments, projects and trends in the region.
