Very few unbiased observers would argue that Pennsylvania’s tax structure is too low. According to the Washington, DC-based Tax Foundation, Pennsylvania has one of the highest corporate income taxes in the nation. Additionally, since 2006, the natural gas industry has sent more than $1.8 billion in tax revenue to Harrisburg, in addition to the $406 million in Marcellus Shale impact fees distributed to local governments and state agencies over the past two years.
