CANONSBURG, Pa. – Later this week, the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) 88th Annual Educational Conference & Trade Show will kick off in Hershey. Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) president and executive director Kathryn Klaber issued the following statement in anticipation of the upcoming PSATS event:

“As the development of the Commonwealth’s clean-burning, job-creating Marcellus shale gas reserves continues to expand, the MSC and its members are eager and committed to strengthening our partnerships with elected officials at every level of government, especially at the local and township level.

“Local governments play a significant role across the Commonwealth, ensuring that critical services are delivered and available for communities. These important efforts – from first response to public safety measures – are directed and often carried out by township supervisors.

“Township supervisors understand full-well the overwhelming economic benefits that are being created from responsible shale gas development. Not only are tens of thousands of good-paying, permanent jobs being creating across the state, but hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues are also being generated for local governments.”
